New England Patriots tab Grafton's Chris McMahon as High School Football Coach of the Week

The accolades keep coming for Grafton High and football coach Chris McMahon, as the New England Patriots honored the ninth-year coach as the High School Coach of the Week on Tuesday.
The Gators clinched a spot in the Division 4 Super Bowl last week with a 21-12 win over Foxborough. Second-seeded Grafton (11-0) will look for its first Super Bowl win since 2012 at 8 p.m. Friday, December 2 against undefeated and top-seeded Duxbury (10-0) at Gillette Stadium. Grafton will also travel to face Millbury for the annual Thanksgiving Day game at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The Patriots and Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett, who is now the team’s Executive Director of Community Affairs, greeted Grafton's football players and cheerleaders in a ceremony on Tuesday morning at Grafton High. The team presented the Gators with a $1,000 donation in McMahon's honor on behalf of the Patriots Foundation. The ceremony will be featured on "Patriots All Access" which will air at 7 p.m. Wednesday on WBZ-TV and on Patriots.com.
“Congratulations to Coach McMahon and the Gators on their win over Foxborough to advance to the Division 4 Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium,” Tippett said in a statement. “Coach McMahon has done a fantastic job all season in coaching the Gators to an undefeated record and now to the Super Bowl. This is a talented team that has continued to improve throughout the course of the year. We wish them the best of luck in their rivalry game this week and look forward to hosting them at Gillette Stadium on December 2.”
The Patriots have honored high school football coaches throughout the state for the last 27 years, with Tippett presenting to schools and athletes for the past 11 years. The team will also select one of the weekly winners this season as the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Year and will receive an additional $2,000 contribution towards the school’s football program.
