England moved into their fourth quarter-final in the last six World Cups following a comfortable 3-0 win over Senegal in the last 16.

Despite a nervy first 35 minutes, England turned on the style to set up a last eight showdown against holders France, who overcame Poland.

England will return to the Al Bayt Stadium for the France encounter following goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.

The two nations have not met at a World Cup since 1982. Forty years ago, England beat France 3-1 after two goals from Bryan Robson, while they also beat their cross-channel rivals in 1966.

When is the quarter-final and what channel is it on?

England v France starts at 7pm GMT on Saturday, 10 December. The match is on ITV and will be the second of two quarter-finals, with the first starting at 3pm UK time.

On Friday, the Netherlands face Argentina in another eagerly-anticipated encounter.

What they say

"We have a brilliant tie, haven't we?" said coach Gareth Southgate after overseeing England’s victory over Senegal. “The two quarter-finals that are already in place are fantastic historic football rivalries with great games from the past. So it's a brilliant game for us to be involved in and test ourselves against the very best."
