Enjoy an eight-course Elvis-inspired meal at Animal Farm to honor historic events

Are you a huge Elvis fanatic who wish you could’ve been there the day he married Priscilla?

Maybe the next best thing will be experiencing an eight-course dinner featuring multiple dishes that were served at the famous couple’s wedding reception back in 1967 at Animal Farm Monday night.

The menu features elegant dishes inspired by the food served. However, Animal Farm owner Hudson Terrell said they’re not just going to make the simple dishes like ham and eggs.

This event is part of a series the restaurant is planning on starting based on menus from historic events. The restaurant did a special dinner based on the Titanic which Terrell said was popular.

Terrell said one of the meals will be ham they made by curing, brining, and smoking it themselves which will be served alongside crispy rice and a coddled egg.

Another course includes lobster. The whole lobster. It will include lobster raviolis using the claws, serving the tails poached in butter on top of the raviolis with a bisque made out of the lobster shells.

A whole suckling pig will also be served as one of the courses, according to Terrell.

The meal will be finished off with wedding cake which will include three tiers with coconut, vanilla and lemon, Terrell said.

Other courses include poached and candied salmon, fried chicken and oyster’s Rockefeller.

The dinner will cost you $100 for all eight courses and an optional wine pairing for each course will cost an extra $50, according to Terrell.

Terrell said that if you would like to attend the event you can book the experience through Animal Farm’s reservation page.

“You can’t really get a dining experience like this in town. These are the best ingredients and doing it the best way we can,” Terrell said.
