Four introductory classes for GRCC’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education will be offered during the winter semester. The offerings at the Lakeshore Campus will be lecture-based, since the new campus doesn't have kitchens.

GRCC is aiming to meet student demand and support employers looking for skilled workers.

“The culinary courses offered at the Lakeshore Campus allow students to earn credit toward our Culinary Arts Associate's Degree Program and several certificate degrees,” said Werner Absenger, director of the Secchia Institute.

Classes include exploration of food service, restaurant sanitation and safety, principles of food science and food purchasing and cost control.
