Alec Baldwin was caught on camera swatting a woman’s phone out of her hand after she confronted him over matters between Israel and Palestine and on the deadly shooting on the “Rust” film set.

The incident occurred on Monday at Maman Café in New York City, reports Entertainment Weekly.

The video was posted to X, formerly Twitter, by an American performance artist and ambush interviewer who goes by the name Crackhead Barney.

In the post, Baldwin is on his cell phone and the provocateur can be heard asking him “Can you please say ‘Free Palestine’ one time?”

He’s then asked, “Why did you kill that lady? You killed that lady and didn’t get jail time? No jail time Alec? No jail time Alec.”

This is referencing the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during an October 2021 rehearsal on the set in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The gun was being used as a prop when the revolver went off when Baldwin was holding it, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.

An employee can be seen attempting to escort Crackhead Barney out of the coffee shop. However, she continues to yell out, “You’re putting people in jail, Alec Baldwin.”

The actor then makes his way to the door as she hollers, “Free Palestine, Alec just one time and I’ll leave you alone. I’ll leave you alone I swear. Just say ‘Free Palestine’ one time.”

He tells her to “get out” as he holds the door open and shakes his head to the requests while pleading with the shop’s employee for some assistance.

She continues asking “The Departed” star to say “Free Palestine.” She then asks him to say “F–k Israel” and “F–k Zionism.” He either declines or ignores her requests.

Toward the end of the 51-second video clip, Baldwin is seen asking someone to do him a favor when he snatches the phone out of Crackhead Barney’s hand.

In the post to X, she claimed Baldwin attacked her while getting coffee, but a disclaimer on the post denies that.

“The person filming this video was not ‘trying to get coffee.’ They repeatedly and viciously harassed Alec Baldwin and refused to leave the establishment when asked to by the staff. There is also no evidence they were attacked,” the social media site added to the user’s video.

It’s not known what happened before the interaction was filmed.

On Tuesday, the content creator took to X asking Baldwin for a “truce,” suggesting the two should “get coffee,” “collaborate more” and “be friends.”

Hours later, she wrote she had “no regrets.”

Entertainment Weekly received a statement from Crackhead Barney’s publicist on the matter. It reads:

“My performance art and confrontational media is a statement about the double standards of society in the US. As the US supports Israel in the genocide of Palestinians, here at home powerful people maintain a facade of politeness and dignity while we export death and terror around the world. Amid mass protests and public calls for an end to US support of Israel, the entertainment industry has been largely silent, and in some cases, even supportive of Israel’s genocide. This cannot stand, and people deserve to be confronted with the horrors our nation funds and supports. I stand with the movement for Palestinian liberation and the end of the apartheid state of Israel as we know it. Free Palestine, end the occupation, end the settlements, and end US Imperialism.”

The “30 Rock” actor has been charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter in the “Rust” movie set shooting. He’s due in court in July, according to Variety. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison. He has pleaded not guilty.

In March, the movie’s weapons supervisor, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was sentenced to 18 months in prison. A jury convicted her on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

KTLA 5 has reached out to Maman Café and Baldwin about the incident and has yet to receive a response.
