New entrance at Henderson Crossing Plaza expected to be completed in a year
HENDERSONVILLE - A new entrance to align with the red lights and intersection at Linda Vista Drive is being constructed at Henderson Crossing Plaza on Four Seasons Boulevard and is expected to be completed in about a year, a broker with local real estate agency Southern Commercial Corp. said on Jan. 26.
To make the new entrance, the old structure that used to be the home of Blockbuster Video, which closed in 2007, and also a fitness center was demolished.
"In 2022, the decision was made to tear down the building and align a new entrance with the intersection of Linda Vista Drive and Four Seasons Boulevard to benefit the shopping center," Eric Goodman, a commercial real estate broker of Southern Commercial Corp. told the Times-News on Jan. 26.
Goodman and Bill Hale, who is the manager of Henderson Crossing Shopping Center, LLC, believe the change will bring in more tenants to the Plaza, which has several large spaces left unoccupied, including the large site of the old Bi-Lo and the former Times-News office located at the end of the Plaza's strip. Other tenants who have left were Mighty Dollar and FATZ Cafe.
So far, Goodman said the responses by current tenants like Harbor Freight, Buddy's and China Buffet have been in favor of the change.
"The response has been positive and everyone is pleased to have improved ingress and regress to the main highway. We still have approximately 40,000 square feet of space to lease, and this improvement will help us attract new tenants," Goodman said.
According to Goodman, the engineers are in the final state of design and planning. The project is expected to be completed in the next 12 months, he said.
"I have been told about a year, which includes construction," he said.
