Environmentally sustainable FlixBus stop added to Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind. − FlixBus, a North American intercity mobility provider, has just added Lafayette to its service locations, allowing for more convenient access to Purdue Campus.

The new bus stop location

As of Thursday, the new bus stop location at 410 N 3rd St., is active. The new stop is just a few steps away from the CityBus Center downtown. According to a release, buses will stop curbside next to the benches on N 3rd Street, between Brown and North Streets, and will run two trips in each direction on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

"Southbound trips to Indianapolis and Bloomington will depart from Lafayette at 11:25 a.m. on service days," a release said, "while northbound trips will run twice daily on service days and depart from Lafayette at 2:40 p.m and 6:10 p.m.

"Lafayette travelers can enjoy connections to Chicago, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Dayton and Columbus with fares as low as $26.99 for Lafayette-Chicago, $18.99 for Lafayette-Milwaukee and $10.99 for Lafayette-Indianapolis trips."

FlixBus has collaborated with atmosfair, a German non-profit organization that promotes, develops and finances renewable energies in 15 countries, to provide travelers the option of climate-friendly travel.

"Customers can purchase 'CO2 Compensation' tickets during booking, thereby making a voluntary environmental contribution," a release from FlixBus said. "The optional cost of traveling green will be added to customers' ticket prices, approximately 1-3% of the original ticket price."
