Enzian Theater celebrates spooky season with ’13 Films of Halloween’

Halloween might last for one short night of the year, but Enzian Theater is celebrating all October long with special screenings, parties and and showings of cult classics.

The Maitland arthouse movie theater will present its “13 Films of Halloween,” which includes “Elvira,” “Halloween” and plenty of cult classics.

“From legendary cult films to highly acclaimed classics of the genre, tribute films to special anniversary screenings, there is literally something for every fan of horror and comedy in this lineup,” said Matthew Curtis, Enzian’s programming director, in a news release.

At the outdoor Eden Bar, moviegoers of drinking age can explore the 13 Cocktails of Halloween, which coincide with the films. For example, the Elvira “Mistress of the Dark” cocktail features tequila, Violette liqueur, lime juice, lavender and activated charcoal. Starting Oct. 1, patrons can pick up a punch card for a chance to win a $100 bar tab, with bonus entries for each cocktail ordered throughout the month.

For family-friendly festivities, visit during the kids’ Halloween party on Oct. 22 for themed activities and a screening of “Hotel Transylvania 2.”

At the end of the month, celebrate in adults-only fashion with the Eden Bar’s Halloween party, which features a costume contest and a midnight movie.
