Epcot Food & Wine: What would it cost to eat everything in 2023?

All marketplaces are up and running for the 2023 edition of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, so it’s time to break out the calculators for an annual tallying. This exercise answers the burning Walt Disney World question, “What would it cost me if I ordered one of everything?”

It isn’t an inflation gauge or a double-dog-dare-you sort of thing. It’s more of a trivia question.

For the total cost, the published prices of all the menu items in the official festival passport plus a couple of late additions are considered, as well as a key subtraction. Although we are ordering one of everything, we’re not taking all variations. For instance, at the Tangierine Cafe, the grilled kebabs come with chicken or lamb, but the price of $6.25 is included only once.

Flights of beer or wine are not included in the total, but the individual orders are. There is enough alcohol in this situation already. When there were size options, we went small.

Although you can get bottled water at every stop, we allowed just one in the total, and we went high-falutin with Evian from the France pavilion this year. For this calculation, all four Joffrey’s festival beverages were nonalcoholic at $6.49 apiece (for the record, the “spirited versions” are $14.99.)

Also, no souvenirs or drinking vessels figure into the tally.

When you add up the cost of every solid food on the festival menu, you would be dishing out $637.58, and you’d probably feel like it.

To walk away with one of every beverage, too, it’s an additional $1,014.36.

That makes the festival total $1,651.94.

We’ll let you decide if that’s a lot of money, moneybags. Both numbers are up from last year, which were $550.45 for foods, $861.91 for beverages and $1.412.36 for one of everything.

The average price for a food item in the 2023 fest is $6.57. Last year, it was $6.25, and it was $5.74 in 2021.

Now, let’s say you want to treat yourself … but in small doses. The most expensive item on the current menu is the artist palette of wine and cheese at the Wine & Wedge marketplace. It’s $18, but it’s also the rare package deal sold at the event with both a solid and a liquid.

Next on the high end are jumbo shrimp cocktail ($14) and Jonah crab tail cocktail ($12) from Bubbles & Brine, one of the final four marketplaces to open last week. B&B is also home to the two most expensive beverages this year: Dom Perignon ($69) and Veuve Clicquot Rose ($38). Caviar is on the passport … but not in the park. Bubbles & Brine, Wine & Wedge, Char & Chop and Swirled Showcase are the final additions to this year’s fest, and they are also connected to the Disney100 celebration at the park.

The other $10-and-up food items are the candied bacon funnel cake ($10.50 at the funnel cake stand near American Adventure), beef poutine for $10 at Refreshment Post and cavatelli for $10 at Italy. Last year, there were no items for more than 10 bucks.

If you find that hard to swallow, follow me to the lower-end items. There are nine options under $5 this year. Beware, there’s sweetness ahead.

For $4.75, there’s Mickey-shaped liquid nitro cake (Swirled Showcase, aka the former Starbucks); pistachio cake (Tangierine Cafe); guava cake (Simmering Sips); spiced chocolate tart (Flavors From Fire); and spanakopita (Greece).

At the $4.50 level are carrot cake (Flavors of America); apple strudel (Germany); and lamington (Australia).

For $4.19, there’s a Remy-themed liege waffle that’s available at Connections Cafe & Eatery.

Lowest price on the menu: That bottle of Evian for $3.95.

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival continues daily through Nov. 18, when the park begins the transition to holiday mode.
