EPD: Teenager killed and another teen wounded in Saturday night shooting

EVANSVILLE — Three suspects clad in all-black clothing reportedly shot and killed one teenager and injured one other Saturday night in Evansville's Tepe Park neighborhood.

Officers were dispatched to the Monroe Avenue area in reference to the shooting at approximately 10:40 p.m. A 15-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound flagged the officers down in the 700 block of Monroe Avenue, Evansville Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Anna Gray said.

"Officers rendered first-aid until AMR arrived to take over and transport the victim to the hospital," Gray wrote in a news release. "Unfortunately, the victim did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital."

Authorities did not publicly disclose the identity of the victim.

Evansville-Vanderburgh Central Dispatch received a separate 911 call about a second, 17-year-old victim who had been dropped off at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.

Gray said the injury appeared to be a "graze," and confirmed both victims were involved in the same shooting incident.

"This investigation is still active and no arrests have been made," Gray wrote. "The suspects were described as three Black males wearing all black and latex gloves."

The EPD asks anyone with information about the incident to contact the Adult Investigation Unit at 812-436-7979.
