Equipment from this closed Peoria movie theater is now up for auction

PEORIA – Landmark Cinemas will apparently not be reopening. Equipment from the 10-screen facility is listed in an online auction happening through Oct. 25.

Backes Auctioneers posted an extensive list of items for sale:

“Owners just decided to close this full service 10 screen cinema and offer all of the assets in an online auction. This will be an awesome offering of cinema equipment to include: New digital communications rack system, 9 Christie Digital Cinema projectors, several vintage projectors, 9 complete hi dollar audio components racks, 30+ JBL base speakers with horns, dozens of Altec and JBL surround cinema speakers, 400 Dolphin nice lean back theater chairs, over 1400 other theater chairs, full concession with Cretor hi capacity popcorn popper, cotton candy, nachos and more, literally thousands of movie posters being sold by the box, there will some DJ lighting plus so much more!”

Landmark Cinemas closed at the end of July. Other businesses within Landmark Recreation Center remain open.

The auction listing also has many photographs of items to be auctioned, including some equipment related to the bowling alley next door, like bowling pins and lockers.

Landmark Lanes is still open, however, and new restaurant called Highly Flavored opened Oct. 7 in the space formerly occupied by Bullpen Sports Bar & Grill. Highly Flavored is open from 11 a.m. until midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
