Erie area will boom with fireworks all summer in 2023. Here's where can you see them.

The skies over and around northwestern Pennsylvania will glow and boom with legal fireworks displays all summer. Here's when and where they're planned:

City of Erie

  • Erie SeaWolves games: June 30, July 2, July 3 following games at UPMC Park, 831 French St. Also six more planned throughout the season, following Friday night home games: (6:35 p.m. game start) July 14 and July 28, Aug. 4 and Aug. 25; and (6:05 p.m. game start) Sept. 1 and Sept. 15. 814-456-1300. www.milb.com/erie.

  • Lights Over Lake Erie: July 3. Starting at 10 p.m., the annual fireworks display for the city of Erie, returns to Dobbins Landing. The fireworks, launched from the Bicentennial Tower at Dobbins Landing, can be viewed at various points along the bayfront. For information about locations, transportation and other details, visit https://bit.ly/eriefireworks.

Erie County municipalities

  • Wesleyville: June 17. Ninth annual Wesleyville Community Day Festival, including music, raffles, craft booths, demonstrations and more, runs 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., concludes with a fireworks display at dusk. Wesleyville Memorial Ball Fields. 814-899-5177. facebook.com/WesleyvilleCommunityDay

  • Albion: July 1-2. 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Albion Borough Park, Lisek Circle. Two-day Albion Fireworks Festival features music, food, craft show, mullet contest, petting zoo, rides, more. Fireworks will begin at dark on July 2. For information, visit bit.ly/albionjuly4.

  • Edinboro: Boro with the Works, 6 to 10:30 p.m., near Mallory Lake on PennWest Edinboro University campus.   • Lawrence Park: July 4. Starting at 10 a.m., the community Independence Day celebration includes a bike parade from Lake Cliff Park to Napier Park followed by a 2 p.m. parade on Main Street. Music at IHS Field, 7 p.m. and fireworks at dusk. 814-899-2305. bit.ly/lawrenceparkjuly4

  • North East: July 4, yard games start at 4 p.m. at Gravel Pit Park, 10300 W. Main Road, North East.   • Union City French Creek Festival: July 7, 5-10 p.m.; July 8, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Union City School District grounds, 105 Concord St. Two-day French Creek Festival includes dancing, food trucks, vendors, face painting, car cruise-in and more.   • McKean: July 22. McKean Community Day, McKean Community Park, McKean. Warren County

  • Warren: July 1-4, Betts Park, 100 Ludlow St. Warren's 75th Fourth of July celebration includes Music in the Park on July 1; a food truck event with live music from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on July 2; activities, food trucks, live music and more starting at 11 a.m. on July 3 with fireworks at 10 p.m.; and a parade at 11 a.m. July 4.

Crawford County

  • Canadohta Lake: July 1: Firecracker 5K/10K races, 9 a.m.; golf cart and pet parade, 11 a.m.; fireworks, 10 p.m.; July 2: boat parade, noon.; July 4, 5 a.m. Fish for free day. For information, visit canadohtalake.org/events.

  • Meadville: July 4, 4-10 p.m. Ultimate Freedom Event at Crawford County Fairgrounds, 13291 Dickson Road. Mercer County

  • Greenville: Freedom Festival, Greenville Airport, 511 E. Jamestown Road; Live entertainment, family events, military displays, July 1, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., ending with fireworks at dusk.   • Bemus Point: Fireworks will be launched from barges in Bemus Bay on Chautauqua Lake July 4 at 10 p.m. The display will be visible from the village park, Lakeside Drive, and all around the Village of Bemus Point. bit.ly/bemuspointJuly4
