Erie County Bar Association holding free Community Law Day on range of topics

If you have questions about the law, the Erie County Bar Association is ready to help you in a free event on Saturday.

The association's diversity and inclusion section is sponsoring its second annual Community Law Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Erie Center for Arts and Technology, 650 East Ave.

The association said the event will feature presentations on legal issues in a variety of areas. Topics include criminal law, bankruptcy and financial literacy, immigration, disability rights, custody of children and divorce, guardianship, legal needs of the elderly and estate planning.

Presentations are scheduled for 10:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. No appointment is needed, the association said. The event includes refreshments and raffles.

Information will also be available on resources that a number of community groups provide. They include voter registration officials, the Crime Victim Center of Erie County, Northwestern Legal Services, the Erie County Human Relations Commission and the Erie County Bar Association's Lawyer Referral & Information Service.

The events sponsors are the Knox Law Firm, PNC Bank and the law firms of Purchase, George & Murphey and Talarico & Associates.
