Erie County high school sports Top Performers for Oct. 3-8

Here are some of the best performances by high school athletes from Erie County over the past week. Find new highlights throughout the week at GoErie.com:

Football

Collin Libra, Seneca: His 23-yard touchdown highlighted his four receptions during the Bobcats' 57-3 rout of Franklin.

Ray Jackson, McDowell: He caught five passes for 46 yards, highlighted by a 16-yard touchdown reception, when the Trojans won 49-19 at Meadville.

Lloyd Fountain, Northwestern: The quarterback's three touchdown passes helped the Wildcats beat Conneaut 20-0.

Tony Brutcher, Corry: The senior returned a blocked field goal 96 yards for a touchdown and also had a 93-yard interception in the Beavers' 35-12 victory against North East.

Michael Gennuso, Fairview: His personal-best 40-yard field goal, followed by a 35-yarder on the game's final play, highlighted the Tigers' dramatic 27-24 victory over the rival Girard YellowJackets.

Dajoure Hollingsworth, Cathedral Prep: An 85-yard run highlighted his five touchdowns during the Ramblers' 55-7 rout of Cleveland's Benedictine High School.

Justin Leuschen, Fort LeBoeuf: His 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns helped the Bison rally from a 17-0 deficit for a 28-17 victory at Harbor Creek.

Dylan Sheeder, General McLane: The Lancers quarterback rushed for their first and last touchdowns during a 22-19 victory at Wilmington.

Boys soccer

Luke Wetzel, Girard: His two goals and an assist were notable during the YellowJackets' 3-0 victory at Conneaut.

Ahmed Agag, McDowell: His goal held up when the Trojans topped General McLane 1-0.

David Price, General McLane: His second-half goal was the difference for the Lancers when they won 2-1 at North East.

Ben Burkhardt, Iroquois: The Braves' goalkeeper recorded a 2-0 shutout at Titusville.

Connor Cross, McDowell: He was the goalkeeper of record for the Trojans, who beat Erie High 1-0.

Lee Hoover, Seneca: He was responsible for all the scoring when the Bobcats beat Franklin 4-0.

Luis Corrales, McDowell: His hat trick stood out for the Trojans when they won 8-0 at Bradford.

Luke Irvin, Fairview: He was the goalkeeper of record for the Tigers when they beat North East 1-0.

Landon Olszewski, General McLane: He was the Lancers' goalkeeper when they won 1-0 at Girard.

Girls soccer

Mallory Hammill, Seneca: The goalkeeper was responsible for the Bobcats' half of their scoreless match with Slippery Rock.

Amelia Svetz, North East: The Grapepickers' 2-0 victory versus Erie High also counted as their goalkeeper's third consecutive shutout.

Leya Bretz, Harbor Creek: She scored two goals, the first off a penalty kick, and also assisted twice when the Huskies defeated Grove City 6-1. She also scored the Huskies' first and last goals during their 3-2 victory over Slippery Rock.

Hannah Shepard, McDowell: Her two goals comprised half of the Trojans' offense when they defeated rival Cathedral Prep 4-1.

Sage Slowikowski, Seneca: The Bobcats remained unbeaten at 9-0-2 thanks to her first-half goal in their 1-0 victory against Cambridge Springs

Olivia Dixon, Cathedral Prep: Her two goals comprised half of the Ramblers' offense when they defeated Fairview 4-1.

Jenna Popowski, Fort LeBoeuf: She scored the go-ahead goal for the Bison when they beat rival General McLane 2-1.

Abbi Erion, Girard: Her four goals accounted for half of the YellowJackets' offense when they won 8-0 against Iroquois.

Evelyn Bish, North East: Her goal and two assists were part of the Grapepickers' 5-0 victory versus Franklin.

Madison Soudan, Girard: She scored twice and assisted on a third goal for the YellowJackets when they won a dramatic 4-3 double-overtime match at Eisenhower.

Elise Cacchione, Fort LeBoeuf: She had a hat trick and an assist for the Bison, who beat Harbor Creek 5-0.

Girls tennis

Vivian Liu, Fairview: The top-seeded freshman advanced to the final of District 10's Class 3A singles tournament at Westwood Racquet Club. She also won her No. 1 singles match as part of the Tigers' 5-0 dual victory against Mercyhurst Prep and her 6-0, 6-0 win when they shut out Sharon.

Trinity Fox, Fairview: Distict 10's two-time defending champion of its Class 3A singles tournament reached Monday's final.

Anna Poranski, Cathedral Prep The defending titlist for District 10's Class 2A singles tournament advanced to Monday's championship match.

Anne Marie Prichard, Cathedral Prep: The former District 10 Class 2A singles gold medalist rallied for a three-set victory as the No. 2 singles starter for the Ramblers, who beat Buffalo's Nichols School 4-1.

Hannah Nichols, Fairview: Her 10-0 pro set victory as the Tigers' No. 3 singles starter helped them beat Grove City 5-0 and conclude their regular season with a record of 16-1.

Girls volleyball

Addica Sperry, Mercyhurst Prep: She had a double-double (16 kills and 15 digs) for the Lakers, who won a competitive five-set match over Fort LeBoeuf. Earlier, she recorded 10 kills and nine digs for the Lakers when they won 25-16, 25-19, 25-17 at Titusville.

Kaylin Laird, Cathedral Prep: Her 17 kills and five digs were part of the Ramblers' four-set win versus General McLane.

Talon King, Harbor Creek: Her 19 assists from the Huskies' backcourt contributed to their three-set sweep of rival Seneca.

Cadence Jones, North East: She led all players with 21 kills during the Grapepickers' three-set sweep of Union City.

Abby Ball, General McLane: She recorded assists on 27 of the Lancers' 75 points during their three-set sweep of Erie High.

Macy Testa, McDowell: Her 19 goals and 19 digs for the Trojans helped them beat Sharpsville in four sets.

Makenna Moore, Corry: The sophomore's double-double (16 kills, 18 digs) were significant to the Beavers' competitive five-set victory at Meadville.

Olivia Swinarski, Harbor Creek: She had a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs, and also served five aces when the Huskies beat Saegertown in four sets.

Nikole McLallen, Cathedral Prep: She had a team-high 12 kills, plus seven digs, when the Ramblers swept Northwestern 25-18, 25-21, 26-24.

Ashley Post, Seneca: She was the most consistent player for the Bobcats (six kills, 14 assists and five digs) during their five-set victory against Girard.

Boys cross country

Stephen Brady, Corry: He was the gold medalist for the varsity boys race (17 minutes, 20.80 seconds) for Harbor Creek's Dirty Dawg Invitational.

Kamden Kramer, McDowell: He set the Brown's Farm course record with a time of 15:50 when the Trojans hosted a Region 6 meet.

Bryce Byram, Fort LeBoeuf: His low time of 18:27 was the fastest for a dual between the victorious Bison and Mercyhurst Prep.

Zach Beckwith, Union City: The Bears' 21-35 dual victory over Eisenhower was aided by his individual win at 10:36.

Ethan Webb, General McLane: He was the fastest runner (16:40) when the Lancers defeated the visiting Fairview Tigers.

Eli Rhoades, Harbor Creek: He was the individual winner (17 minutes, 27.39) for a dual against Corry that the Huskies won 22-36.

Girls cross country

Ella Harrington, Mercyhurst Prep: She was the fastest runner (22:44) for a dual between the Lakers and Fort LeBoeuf.

Sydney Bayle, General McLane: The star of the Lancers won at 18:59 during their dual against Fairview.

Ava Reagle, Union City: She finished first at 12:13 when the Bears raced the visiting Eisenhower Knights.

Jordan Fox, Corry: Her first-place time of 20 minutes, 30.42 seconds also helped the Beavers defeat Harbor Creek 22-36.

Boys water polo

Callum Snider-Mills, Cathedral Prep: He had a match-high four goals for the Ramblers, who defeated McDowell 13-4.

Girls water polo

McKenzie DiPlacido, Cathedral Prep: She led the Ramblers with four goals during their 9-7 victory vs. the rival McDowell Trojans.
