Erie County restaurant inspections for April 20-May 11, 2023

At least once a year, Erie County Department of Health officials inspect all restaurants and stores that sell unpackaged food. Here is a list of violations recorded April 20 through Thursday.

Four critical violations

Solstice Hotel, 8040 Oliver Road, Summit Township (No one designated as a person in charge; no food safety certified employee; no paper towels at hand wash sink and sink not accessible; cold water faucet handle is broken; mouse droppings found in storage area.) Also, four noncritical violations. May 2

Little Caesars, 60 High St., Waterford. (The hand wash sink does not have approved hand drying method; the food facility has a certified food employee, but they don't act as the person in charge; person in charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety; and the pizza oven has food debris and dust.) Also five noncritical violations. April 28.

Two critical violations

Little Caesars, 1332 W. Grandview Blvd. (Not enough sanitizer and spoiled bag of green peppers found in cooler.) Also two noncritical violations. April 28

Erie Bank Sports Park, 8159 Oliver Road, Summit Township. (Coffee pot in hand wash sink, and utensils drying next to sink; Evidence of pest activity in cabinets and around storage areas.) Also one noncritical violation. May 8

One critical violation

Springhill Suites, 2087 Interchange Road, Millcreek Township. (Cream cheese found at 53 degrees.) Also 2 noncritical violations. April 28

Gold Star Chinese Food, 31 N. Main St., Union City. (Hand wash sink inaccessible.) Also one noncritical violation. May 10

BFA Mart, 1511 W. 38th St. (Moths found in bags of rice.) April 27

St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge, 4855 West Ridge Road, Millcreek Township. (Cold food not kept cold enough.) May 5

Tim Hortons, 815 E. 38th St. (Nozzle on iced beverage machine had build-up.) April 28
