Erie County high school athletes in winter sports had standout performances the past week. Here are some of them:
Boys basketball
Jake Sambuchino, Cathedral Prep: His game-high 19 points helped the Ramblers hold off Erie High for a 53-48 victory at Joann Mullen Gymnasium.
John Seyboldt, Fairview: His 16 points helped the Tigers maintain first place in their region thanks to their 52-37 victory at Seneca. ... His career-high 24 points also highlighted his team's 57-38 victory over the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers.
David Bahm, Mercyhurst Prep: He scored 11 points for the Lakers, who defeated Northwestern 66-36.

Dylan McDonald, Girard: The YellowJackets beat North East 54-38 in part because of his 16 points. ... Earlier, he scored for 14 points when they defeated Iroquois 66-45.
Tyler Grove, McDowell: He recorded 14 points for the Trojans, who topped General McLane 63-50.
Anthony Collins, Erie First Christian: His 25 points stood out on the box score when the Eagles beat Iroquois 68-46. ... He also totaled 22 points when they defeated the Northwestern Wildcats 64-51.
Demetris Crosby, North East: The Grapepickers required each of the freshman's 37 points en route to their dramatic 82-78 triple-overtime victory vs. the Seneca Bobcats.
Logan Kibbe, Seneca: The Bobcats lost to North East 82-78 in triple overtime despite his 34-point effort that included eight 3-pointers.
Zion Barksdale, Cathedral Prep: Nine of his 11 points were on dunks, which inspired the Ramblers' home crowd during their 45-38 victory vs. the rival McDowell Trojans.
Nick Krahe, Harbor Creek: The West Virginia University football recruit used his size in the low post to score 30 points and haul in seven rebounds during the Huskies' 77-68 victory vs. General McLane.
Andreas McCullum, Erie High: He scored 19 points when the Royals beat Meadville 66-53.
Bryce Drayer, Union City: The Bears beat the Maplewood Tigers 51-34 with the help of his 15 points.

Girls basketball
Brooke Przybylski, Harbor Creek: The Huskies, with the aid of her 13 points, gained a season split against Fairview thanks to their 45-32 home victory. ... She also scored 18 points during their 56-24 victory against the Fort LeBoeuf Bison.
Meghan Konkol, Seneca: Her 13 points helped the Bobcats double up the Eisenhower Knights 52-26.
Makayla Presser-Palmer, Northwestern: A 21-point performance by the freshman highlighted the Wildcats' 56-45 victory vs. the North East Grapepickers. ... Three days earlier, her 18 points were more than Iroquois' total when the Wildcats beat the Braves 61-11.
Lena Walz, Cathedral Prep: Her 20 points nearly surpassed Erie High's total when the Ramblers beat the Royals 76-21.
Jessica Messenger, Union City: Her nine points were the most by an individual Bear during the team's 38-22 win against Cochranton. ... She began her week with a 16-point effort that was nearly double Rocky Grove's total when her team routed the Orioles 54-9.
Libby Opp, General McLane: Her healthy 24-point effort also helped the Lancers beat the rival Fort LeBoeuf Bison 43-38.
Alex Cozzens, North East: Her 15 points helped the Grapepickers defeat Girard 53-21.
Addie Biel, Cathedral Prep: She contributed 16 points to the Ramblers' comfortable 74-22 victory vs. General McLane.

Olivia Kulyk, Mercyhurst Prep: Her 17 points were the most for the four Lakers who finished in double figures by the end of the team's 60-19 win over Eisenhower.
Amaiya Nelson, McDowell: Her 13 points were vital for the Trojans, who won a low-scoring 43-26 game at Fairview.
Emma Bleil, Seneca: Her 10 points were the most for the Bobcats when they won 54-21 over the Titusville Rockets.

Boys swimming
Tanner Pike, Union City: He won shortest race (50-yard freestyle) and longest (500 freestyle) for two of his three victories when the Bears defeated the host Corry Beavers 97-68.
Jack Dana, Mercyhurst Prep: He swept the freestyle sprint races when the Lakers beat Erie High 36-4.
Evan Kemp, North East: The Ashland (Ohio) University recruit, hours after he officially signed with the Division II Eagles, won four times during the Grapepickers' 92-46 dual win vs. General McLane.
Mitchell Myers, Fairview: He won his maximum four-event appearances for the Tigers when they beat the Harbor Creek Huskies 141-20.
Mitchell Bradford, Cathedral Prep: He led off and anchored first-place relays for half of his four individual victories for the Ramblers, who beat the rival McDowell Trojans 123-60.
Aiden Knapp, Corry: He was a rare winner in swimming (100 backstroke) and diving for the Beavers during their 83-62 dual victory vs. Girard.
Mason Currier, North East: He was victories in each of his four starts for the Grapepickers when they beat Harbor Creek 88-48.
Aidan Levis, Cathedral Prep: A sweep of the freestyle sprint events comprised half of his four wins when the Ramblers beat Meadville 126-40.
Matthew Shollenberger, Fairview: His four victories were part of the Tigers' 135-37 dual win against the General McLane Lances.

Taylor Moats, Corry: The junior, on her 17th birthday, also helped the Beavers celebrate when she won four times during their 102-62 dual victory vs. the rival Union City Bears.
Quinlan Cullen, Mercyhurst Prep: She was a triple winner for the Lakers when they beat the Erie High Royals 64-49.
Anna Riedel, North East: She anchored the Grapepickers' 400-yard freestyle relay for the decisive victory in their 86-72 dual win over the General McLane Lancers.
Addison Mang, Fairview: She finished first in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke for the Tigers when they defeated Harbor Creek 112-64.
Ellie Natemeier, Cathedral Prep: She swept the freestyle distance races for two of her four individuals wins that also helped the Ramblers win 97-83 at McDowell.
Catrina Miller, General McLane: Her four victories helped the Lancers upset the Fairview Tigers 105½-80½.
Anna Mitchell, Harbor Creek: She swept the freestyle distance races for two of her three victories during the Huskies' 96-77 dual win vs. North East.
Haley Palmer, Cathedral Prep: The Cleveland State recruit won her four events during the Ramblers' 110-56 dual victory over Meadville.
Mackenzie Spence, Corry: She finished first four times when the Beavers defeated the Girard YellowJackets 95-65.
Wrestling
Brandon Byrd, Cathedral Prep: He was the 138-pound gold medalist for the Frank Ferguson Brooke Classic at Wellsburg, West Virginia. ... His pin in the 145 match also gave the Ramblers a lead they never relinquished when they defeated Hickory 42-30 and clinched first place in District 10's Region 5 standings.
Logan Sallot, McDowell: The West Virginia University recruit, by an 18-3 technical fall, won the 114 division at Grove City's Fred Bell Memorial Tournament.
Trey Proper, Corry: The middleweight won each of his five matches, including three by fall and a fourth by a major decision, when the Beavers competed at the Sharon Duals.

Abe Keep, Girard: The Edinboro University recruit won his 100th career match during the YellowJackets' appearance at the Sharon Duals.
Zack Beckwith, Union City: His 8-0 shutout in the 145 match was part of the Bears' 57-12 win over the Mercer Mustangs.
Wilson Spires, General McLane: The heavyweight's pin gave the Lancers a permanent lead en route to their 42-28 dual victory at Girard.
Owen Nickerson, Corry: The heavyweight's 1-minute, 34-second fall was the fastest the Beavers recorded when they routed Seneca 72-6.
Girls bowling
Jenna Chandley, McDowell: The junior recorded the high game (225) and series (524) during Metro League competition at Rolling Meadow Lanes.
Elena Kacprowicz, Cathedral Prep: The senior's 178 game in a 519 series helped the Ramblers beat Erie High 18-10 in Metro League play.
Kylie Troutman, Mercyhurst Prep: Her 336 highlighted the Lakers' consistent performance en route to their 15-13 Metro League upset of McDowell.

Boys indoor track and field
Jace Walls, General McLane: He won the high jump competition (6 feet, 1 inch) during the latest Tri-State Track and Field Coaches Association meet at Edinboro University.
DaMario Crawford, Cathedral Prep: He set the school record for the 200 meters with a time of 22.42 seconds during the Ramblers' appearance in the S.P.I.R.E. Institute Preview meet at Geneva, Ohio.
Girls indoor track and field
Isabel Owens, Fairview: She completed her two laps in the 800 meters for a first-place time of 2 minutes, 29.22 seconds for a Tri-State Track and Field Coaches Association meet at Edinboro University.
