Erie's WJET-TV back on DirecTV, but WFXP-TV remains blacked out

DirecTV customers in northwestern Pennsylvania once again have access to WJET-TV after the satellite TV provider reached a distribution agreement with WJET's parent company, Nexstar Media Group.

The multi-year agreement covers 176 Nexstar-owned television stations and the company's national cable news network, NewsNation. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Erie's ABC affiliate had been blacked out for DirecTV customers since July 2, said Julie Zoumbaris, WJET's vice president and general manager. It is again available on DirecTV, DirecTV Stream and U-verse.

"DirecTV and Nexstar greatly appreciate the patience of their subscribers and viewers during this negotiation," Nexstar officials said in a statement.

The agreement doesn't include WFXP-TV, Erie's FOX affiliate that is owned by Mission Broadcasting and operated through a shared agreement with Nexstar.

WFXP has been blacked out for DirecTV customers since Oct. 24 and for Dish customers since Jan. 9, Zoumbaris said.
