Erin Napier Opens Up About Being Pregnant While Filming: “Absolute Hardest Thing We’ve Ever Done”

Erin and Ben Napier are expecting their second child! During the latest episode of Home Town, the Laurel, Mississippi couple shared the exciting news that they were having a girl and that their 3-year-old daughter Helen was becoming a big sister. Not only that, but Erin's brother and his wife also revealed that they were expecting as well. To make things ever more adorable, Erin and her sister-in-law are only a few weeks apart in their respective pregnancy journeys.

Now, if you were wondering when exactly we can expect the newest member of the Napier clan, it's actually very soon. The HGTV star is currently seven months pregnant and had managed to keep the news under wraps until now. However, for the majority of this pregnancy, she was busy filming for not just one... but two series. She spoke with HGTV about working on the latest season of Home Town, as well as Home Town Takeover (the Napier's new show where they renovate the entire of Wetumpka, Alabama) while dealing with a pregnancy in the middle of a pandemic.

"It's been the absolute hardest thing we've ever done," Erin told the network. Specifically, she discussed how Home Town Takeover was especially difficult as they were in a new place "without our Laurel security blanket. " She adds: " I've never felt this kind of tired in my bones."

However, she thanks her husband for never leaving her side: "Ben is so dedicated to being a hands-on parent too, being there to swoop in and rescue me when I'm so tired," she said. While the experience was grueling, she pointed out that she believes it was "God showing us we can handle more than we ever thought possible."

When it came to revealing the news of their second daughter, Erin explained that they had considered keeping quiet about it until after the birth. Although, as she began to look more pregnant, it became harder to hide while running errands. "It's no secret we guard Helen's privacy and try to give her as much security as we can, so it just feels like such a tender secret to us, another baby," the designer mom said, adding that because of their line work, she and Ben know that "we also know we don't have the luxury of keeping it secret forever."
