Essentia to relocate COVID-19 testing to clinics

Jun. 18—Essentia Health announced Thursday afternoon that all COVID-19 testing will be conducted at clinic locations starting Monday.

The mobile testing sites and testing sites at Duluth's Miller Hill Mall and Virginia will close and move to Essentia's main clinics. The Miller Hill Mall site will close at 1 p.m. Sunday. Virginia will no longer conduct tests in the lower-level parking lot at 1101 Ninth St. N. Instead, tests will be conducted inside the clinic.

An appointment for a test is required by contacting a primary care provider, going to urgent care or by using Essentia's MyChart online portal. Patients who have a test already scheduled for after June 20 will be notified if their test location has changed and will be directed to a clinic. Patients do not need to reschedule.

According to the release from Essentia Health, the change will bring testing and vaccinations to one location, which will allow primary care providers to manage COVID-19 care comprehensively.

Essentia clinics are open weekdays. Essentia's urgent care clinics in downtown Duluth, West Duluth, Superior and Virginia will offer testing on weekends.
