Etowah County's United Way to celebrate 25 years of Day of Action

United Way of Etowah County will be marking the 25th anniversary of its Day of Action this year. The day filled with volunteer projects around the community will kick off at The Venue at Coosa Landing beginning at 8 a.m. on June 17.

Volunteers, who will be given a free T-shirt to wear during the work day and to commemorate their time, will be completing projects such as yard work, cleaning, painting, reading in local day cares and helping others in need all morning up to 11:30 a.m.

These projects can take place all over the county, from local schools to any of United Way's partnership agencies.

Volunteers will then return to The Venue for a lunch provided by United Way and  sponsors Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Buffalo Rock.
