EU ambassador in Kyiv says Russian mass missile strike is response to Zelenskyy's successful Europe Trip

"Massive air strikes across Ukraine, from early morning on,” Maasikas tweeted.

“(It’s) as if (it was) a reaction to Zelenskyy’s highly successful visits to European capitals over the last (couple of) days, where he was welcomed as a family member."

Maasikas added that Russians aren't able to ruin Ukrainians' resolve as they haven't been able earlier.

The Russian military unleashed a new barrage of missile and drone attacks on a number of Ukrainian regions overnight on Feb. 10.

Damage to energy infrastructure and high-voltage facilities was reported by national power operator Ukrenergo in Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, as well as in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzia and Khmelnytskyi themselves.

Ten Russian missiles were downed over Kyiv. Fragments of one of the missiles fell on the capital’s Holosiyivskyi District, hiting a house. Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko reported there was some damage to the electricity grid, but that there were no casualties, Ukrainian news channel 24 Kanal reported.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a surprise visit to the UK on Feb. 8, and then visited Paris, Brussels and Poland the next day. Following his visit, London announced a training program for Ukrainian fighter jet pilots and marines and, new sanctions against Russian individuals and enterprises.
