EU Foreign Affairs official Josep Borrell believes that Europeam must better understand the risks of having a Belarus-like "puppet" government in Ukraine and a Russian army on EU borders, he stated in an interview with EFE on Feb. 9.

"Russia will do anything,” Borrell said.

Vladimir Putin has no intention of giving up. His political survival is at stake."

He asserted that Putin clearly does not mind sacrificing his army and people, as he is already suffering huge material and human losses and has not achieved any significant territorial success.

According to the European diplomat, Putin is a neighbor who "does not know where his borders end and where they begin."

Responding to those who do not support Ukraine aid, he asked if a Russian puppet regime in Ukraine and Russian troops will be at the Polish border would make problems better or worse.

Borrell therefore stated that the West must continue to insist on helping those who are defending themselves against a powerful neighbor that wishes to "impose its dominance by force" and is "nostalgic for the old Soviet or Tsarist empire."

Borrell arrived in Kyiv on Feb. 6. This is his fourth visit to Ukraine during the full-scale war.

According to him, the visit is aimed at discussing the EU's unwavering support in the military and financial spheres, as well as the support for a new Ukrainian fund, the 50 billion euro Ukraine Facility fund.

Earlier, Bild, citing its own sources in the intelligence of a European country, reported that Russia may try to attack Europe in late 2024 or early 2025, when the United States will be "without a leader" and will be able to save European states only after some delay.

Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of NATO's Military Committee, stated that civilians in the West should prepare for "total war" with Russia.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Europe is again "facing a military threat that has not been seen for 30 years" and warned of a possible Russian attack in five to eight years.
