EU proposes to slap same sanctions on Belarus as on Russia for war of aggression on Ukraine

According to the outlet, Poland, the Baltic States and Ireland sent the European Commission their draft proposals regarding the ninth package of sanctions against Russia and the regime of Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko.

Polish Radio noted that the issue of synchronizing the introduction of sanctions against Russia and Belarus has been discussed in Brussels for some time. Diplomats want to hit the economy of Belarus and force the Lukashenko regime to stop helping Russia, as well as prevent the Russians from circumventing sanctions.
It is also reported that proposals for new sanctions against Russia include a ban on diamond imports, a ban on Kaspersky antivirus software in the EU, and a ban on the sale of real estate to Russian citizens.
The Belarusian newspaper Nasha Niva reported on Oct. 13 that Lukashenko had decided to conduct a covert mobilization in the country.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Oct. 12 that Lukashenko's regime allowed the use of the military-industrial complex of Belarus to repair damaged Russian military equipment and handed over some T-72 tanks to Russia.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has been launching its missiles at Ukraine from the territory of Belarus.

It also launched its failed attempt to capture the Ukrainian capital Kyiv from Belarusian territory. Columns of Russian troops and tanks advanced from Belarusian territory into Ukraine on both sides of the Dnipro River.
However, the Russian forces were defeated and retreated from northern Ukraine in March and early April.
