Eugene is asking people to weigh in on solutions to challenges downtown.

The city held an open house earlier this month and has launched an online survey to hear from people about which priorities should guide future projects and programming downtown.

Key topics, including housing, commercial activity and public safety, emerged from interviews with key stakeholders and focus group meetings, according to a press release from the city. Eugene is now looking for more public input.

People can find a link to the survey at eugene-or.gov/4723/Downtown-Priorities-Projects, which has more information about efforts to find solutions to issues downtown.

The survey, which is open until 11:59 p.m. Dec. 4, asks about people's connection to downtown, how often they go there, the top challenges facing downtown, what their vision for the future of it is and which actions they think would help with challenges.

People also have the chance to comment generally and sign up for email updates on the project, including when officials will discuss next steps for the priorities and projects that emerge from the community engagement process.

Eugene will use the survey results and community conversations to develop a list of priorities and projects to guide future downtown improvements as part of an update to the Downtown Plan adopted more than a decade ago, according to a press release.

City council will consider the list in early 2023 and begin strategizing on how to implement the priorities that come out of the process, according to the release.
