Eureka College athletics director leaving school for another job in sports

EUREKA — Eureka College athletics director Bryan Moore is leaving the school for "another opportunity within athletics," the NCAA Division III school announced Thursday.

Men's basketball coach Chip Wilde will take over as interim AD, while women's basketball coach Jaylynn Stewart was elevated to assistant AD to help in the transition, the school said. The school has begun a national search to fill the AD position.

Moore, an East Peoria native, took over as AD in 2018 after nearly a decade as the school's sports information director and director of media relations. His last day is scheduled to be Aug. 12, the school said.

"Bryan's contributions ... helped to strengthen Eureka College athletics in countless ways," Eureka College President Dr. Jamel Wright said in a release. "I appreciate Bryan's dedication to Eureka College and wish him well in his new endeavors."

Under Moore, the college added three full-time coaching positions and created the first-ever full-time leadership positions exclusively for men's soccer and women's soccer. He also oversaw the reinstatement of women's and men's cross country in 2020, and the addition of women's and men's wrestling in 2022 to increase Eureka's NCAA Division III sports offerings from 10 to 14.

Wilde has been the men's basketball coach since 2007. Stewart has been the women's basketball head coach since April 2020 and the athletic department's Senior Woman Administrator since July 2021.
