Over 720,000 Ukrainians participated in the Diia app survey, expressing their opinions over the course of a week.

NV will tell you what we know about the jurors.

The Ukrainian comedian, actor, and singer, Andriy Danylko, known for his drag persona Verka Serduchka, secured 43.79% of the votes. Danylko's success is attributed to his portrayal of the Serduchka character, which was created in 1990. Additionally, he has served as a jury member on two seasons of X-Factor, revealing himself as a strict, but fair, mentor.

Danylko's has a long connection with Eurovision. In 2007, he represented Ukraine in the competition and won second place with the song "Dancing Lasha Tumbai.” Some listeners interpreted the lyrics as 'I want you to see — Russia goodbye!' This led to a strongly negative reaction from Serduchka’s Russian fans.

But Russia’s full-scale invasion removed any ambiguity.

“Friends, from Feb. 24, there is no longer any ‘Lasha Tumbai’ in this song,” he said in 2022.

“It's just ‘Russia Goodbye.’ I didn't sing that. You wanted to hear it, so you'll hear it.”

Danylko has served as a member of the National Selection jury five times between 2016 and 2020.

Jamala, the singer and winner of Eurovision 2016, received 23.62% of the votes. Jamala, whose real name is Susana Jamaladinova, began her musical career at a young age, expressing her desire to become a singer when she was nine years old. At 17, she enrolled in Kyiv’s National Music Academy, while simultaneously gracing stages in Ukraine and Europe. In 2009, Jamala achieved a significant milestone by winning the Grand Prix at New Wave 2009, which propelled her career to new heights.

Jamala participated in Eurovision 2011 with the song "Smile,” but victory eluded her. However, her perseverance paid off when she won Eurovions 2016. Five years later, she was honored as People's Artist of Ukraine. Jamala has been a member of the Ukrainian National Selection jury six times.

The leader of the band Bez Obmezhen (Without Limits), Serhiy Tanchynets, garnered 12.42% of the votes in Diia. This year marks his debut as a member of the National Selection jury.

Tanchynets formed Bez Obmezhen in 1990, serving at the group’s frontman. The band has produced several hit songs.

Bez Obmezhen gained widespread recognition in 2017 when they participated in the X-Factor 7 show. Although they didn't secure victory, their music resonated with the entire country. They continued releasing songs, performed concerts in Ukraine and abroad, and grew their fanbase.

The National Selection finals are scheduled for Feb. 3. The event will be televised with no live audience. Organizers have chosen not to disclose the venue for security reasons. The show will be available for viewing on the Diia app, as well as on the UA: Kultura channel, the “Eurovision Ukraine" YouTube channel, and Suspilne’s digital platforms.

Eurovision 2024 will be held in May in the Swedish city of Malmö.
