Eurovision Song Contest 2020: James Newman announced as UK entry for Rotterdam
James Newman has been named as the UK's entrant for this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
The award-winning songwriter will be taking to the stage to perform his song My Last Breath at the competition which is set to be held in Rotterdam on 16 May.
The track was played on BBC Radio 1 and 2 on Thursday morning, with the artist telling Radio 1 Newsbeat he hoped his "simple, memorable and anthem" song would help to win votes.

Newman is a Brit Award winner, having won a gong for British Single of the Year for Rudimental and Ella Eyre's Waiting All Night.
He's got a famous brother in the music industry too as he counts John Newman as a sibling.
His younger brother John, 29, is a singer well known for number one hit Love Me Again.
Last year, the UK came in last at the Eurovision Song Contest with entrant Michael Rice and song Bigger Than Us, making it the fourth time the UK landed in the bottom.
The BBC worked with Newman's record label BMG to select the 2020 entry.
While he was internally selected, the previous four competitions saw the acts decided by the voting public in Eurovision: You Decide.
Internal selection was used between 2011 and 2015 too, with most years prior seeing the public being able to have their say.
Graham Norton will be back to provide his usual witty commentary on the big night, a role he has undertaken annually since 2009.
He took over from the late Terry Wogan who commentated on the event from 1971 until 2008.
