Eutaw man killed in crash involving two tractor-trailers, Alabama troopers say

A 69-year-old Eutaw man died in a Thursday morning crash in Marengo County.

Alabama troopers said the crash, which involved two tractor-trailers, occurred at 11:30 a.m. on U.S. 80, about 6 miles west of Demopolis.

William M. Lancaster was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers. Lancaster was driving a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was involved in a collision with 2000 Peterbilt tractor-trailer.

Troopers identified the driver of the Peterbilt as 42-year-old James E. Bowden Jr. of Livingston. Bowden was taken to Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis for treatment of his injuries.

Members of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are conducting an investigation into the crash.
