EV show Oct. 14 at Monroe County Community College; new EV survey released

Monroe County Community College will host its third annual electric vehicle show from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 14 in parking lot 2 (in front of Building T) on MCCC’s main campus, 1555 S. Raisinville Road. Admission is free.

The show is geared to people interested in buying an EV. Featured will be new electric vehicles. Attendees can drive some of the vehicles and talk to owners about their experiences.

Visitors also can learn about current EV charging equipment and current and emerging EV charging infrastructure. Representatives from auto dealers, manufacturing representatives, network providers, DTE Energy, charging company representatives, MCCC staff and government officials also will be present.

The show is sponsored by MCCC’s Applied Sciences and Engineering Technology Division.

Area residents also are encouraged to take the Monroe County EV Survey.

"This survey is an opportunity to share your opinion about important EV concepts – purchase, maintenance, charging, etc.," organizers said. "This survey is a joint effort among the city of Monroe, Michigan, the city of Luna Pier, Michigan, and Monroe County Community College."
