Michael Sterling, who is married to America’s Next Top Model winner and former The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Eva Marcille, said he isn’t giving up on his marriage, despite his wife filing for divorce.

On Tuesday, the internet was shocked when media outlets reported that Marcille filed for divorce after almost five years of marriage with the attorney.

The two share three children, their two sons Michael Todd Sterling Jr. and Maverick, and the actress’ daughter, Marley Rae, from her previous relationship with music artist Kevin McCall.

There’s a ton of speculation about why she wants to leave the marriage, as there hadn’t been any hints publicly there was trouble in paradise for the couple, being that the two posed for a cute, cozy photo that Marcille posted on Instagram for Valentine’s Day with the caption, “Happy Valentine’s Day forever and ever @miketsterling 🌻 #US.”

According to The Jasmine Brand, court documents state Marcille wants out because the marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for a reconciliation.” She filed the petition in Georgia, where they share a home, at the Superior Court of Fulton County on Thursday, March 23.

Sterling broke his silence on Wednesday, sharing where he currently stands after the news went viral. He said in a statement that he would do everything in his power to make his marriage work because he didn’t want to lose his wife.

“I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to fight for her with every fiber in my being. I love her and I plan to show her how much I love her and that our love is strong enough to get to the other side,” he told The Jasmine Brand.

At the time of publication, Marcille has not responded.
