While bedroom assignments are almost always a source of drama on Housewives trips, none have caused as much controversy as the now-infamous fish room in Dorinda Medley’s Blue Stone Manor. During a heated conversation about the room on Season 11 of The Real Housewives of New York City, Luann de Lesseps was so upset about being asked to stay in the room that she snapped at Dorinda, “You have some f--king nerve putting me in the f--king fish room.”

Most of Luann’s castmates at the time agreed with her opinion of the bedroom, which was decorated with vibrant green walls and multiple mounted fish. However, after Dorinda upgraded the room with new wallpaper, curtains, and bedding, even Luann had to admit the redone room looked “amazing.”

So, of course, when Phaedra Parks arrived at the home on the June 23 season premiere of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club, she was already well aware of the room in which she would be staying. “I’ve heard so much about this fish room,” she said in an interview. After stepping foot in the space, which still features large fish and sharks, Phaedra declared, “I love it,” and quipped in an interview, “I’m not afraid of sharks because I’ve swam with the sharks, honey. They were trying to get away from me.”

Tamra Judge also has strong feelings about it. “It is stunning,” she told BravoTV.com earlier this month. “The bathroom is modeled after a bathroom on a ship, with all this beautiful wood and hardware. I mean, it really is a beautiful room.”

Similarly, Eva Marcille “didn’t find a problem with it.” As she explained to BravoTV.com, “I mean, [there] is a big ass fish in the room, which maybe isn’t people’s normal decor, but Dorinda also has a peacock in one of her five living rooms.”

“You know what I mean? It’s kind of on par for who Dorinda is,” she added. “It works.”
