The Oregon Road fire is now 79% contained

Over the past few days, firefighters have been slowing the speed of the Oregon Road fire which is now 79% contained.

The eastern Washington wildfire has burned over 10,000 acres, 300 buildings and also claimed one life.

The fire began around 4 p.m. on Aug. 18 and has devastated forest and cropland near the city of Elk Washington. The flames are moving very fast due to the high winds and dry weather as firefighters focus on protecting structures and digging fire lines.
