Evacuations Ordered as Deadly Flooding Inundates Southern Australia

Victoria, Australia’s State Emergency Service warned residents of the town Traralgon to evacuate on June 11 as flooding inundated the area. The floods have killed at least two people, local media reported.

Footage filmed by State Emergency Service (SES) Chelsea Unit personnel shows flooded roads and waterways in Traralgon. SES Chelsea said volunteers from its unit and across the state came to assist in rescue operations.

“After almost 3 days and more than 70 requests for assistance from our community, we are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel,” SES Chelsea Unit wrote on Facebook.
