Evacuations as Tamarack Fire in California Grows to 21,000 Acres

The Tamarack Fire in California grew to 21,000 acres on July 17, prompting evacuations, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest officials said.

In a statement the officials said the fire was 0% contained on Saturday evening and was continuing to burn “in a north-westerly direction, west of Markleeville towards the Highway 89 corridor”.
