This is getting absurd.

Tight end Evan Engram (calf) and wideout Sterling Shepard (hamstring) popped up on Thursday’s injury report for a decimated Giants team already down running back Saquon Barkley (ankle), receivers Kadarius Toney (ankle) and Kenny Golladay (knee), and left tackle Andrew Thomas (foot, ankle, injured reserve).

Engram did not participate at all on Thursday after practicing fully on Wednesday. He missed the Giants’ first two games of the season with a calf injury, as well.

Shepard was limited. He played against the Rams last week but had missed the two previous games with a hamstring injury, too.

Wideouts John Ross (hamstring) and Darius Slayton remained limited, and corner Sam Beal (hamstring) joined the limited group that also included LG Ben Bredeson (hand), DT Danny Shelton (pec) and tight end Kaden Smith (knee).

Smith was upgraded from a DNP on Wednesday. Edge Azeez Ojulari was a full participant after missing Wednesday’s game due to a personal matter.

It’s possible wide receiver David Sills and tight end Chris Myarick could get call-ups from the practice squad this week for the injury-riddled Giants (1-5) against the Carolina Panthers (3-3).

Practice squad offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson, meanwhile, was absent for a second straight day. Coach Joe Judge had said Wednesday that the team was keeping Wilson out of the building due to a “[stomach] bug.”
