Evan Peters Reveals Quicksilver’s Story In X-Men: Apocalypse

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ has been somewhat overshadowed by ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ and ‘Captain America: Civil War’, all three of which are going to be released in summer 2016.

Coming off the huge success of ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ - it was the highest grossing of the series as well as being easily the best reviewed – ‘Apocalypse’ is still expected to excel when it is ultimately released in just a couple of months time.

And it now sounds as if 20th Century Fox are putting their publicity plans in motion for the blockbuster, as Bryan Singer’s recent announcement that a teaser trailer is imminent has been followed with Evan Peters providing us an update on the antics of his character, Quicksilver, in ‘Apocalypse’.

Evan Peters explained to Details, “But the story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It stars there and then he jumps on the ‘X-Men’ train and gets sucked up in this whole ‘Apocalypse’ madness. He tries to stop him from destroying the world.”

For those of you that don’t know, in the comics Quicksilver’s father is Magneto, who will be played by Michael Fassbender in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’.

It’s previously been revealed that Magneto will be living with a new family in relative obscurity at the start of ‘Apocalypse’, and it’s safe to assume that Quicksilver will be the one to bring his father back into the fray for the adventure.

In ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Oscar Issac’s titular villain, who possesses the ability to inhabit the powers of other mutants and has become immortal and invincible, awakes from a thousand year sleep and decides to cleanse humanity and create a new world order, recruiting other mutants to help him.

This then provokes Jennifer Lawrence’s Raven and James McAvoy’s Charles Xavier to recruit a new, young team of X-Men to stop Apocalypse.

Hopefully we’ll get a clearer idea of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’s’ style and plot when the first teaser trailer hits in the coming weeks, while the film itself will be released on May 19, 2016.
