Evangel University saw its annual giving nearly triple during the 2022-23 fiscal year, setting a new record.

The university announced Wednesday that donations during the past year topped $27 million including $10 million from the Green family and $6 million in grant awards.

“We are humbled by the collective spirit of generosity that thrives within our Evangel community,” said Evangel president Mike Rakes, in a news release.

“Alumni and friends of the university believe in our mission and commitment to excellence. Their incredible generosity has supported the work God is doing here on EU’s campus.”

The growth is not just in giving. Evangel increased by 350 students, or 11%, this past year.

“The momentum occurring at Evangel is undeniable," said Rakes, in the release. "There is an energy and excitement here that indicates we are providing what students and families want — a world class education through the lens of a Biblical worldview."
