Evanston Restaurants Offer Delivery, Carry Out During Coronavirus

EVANSTON, IL — Many Evanston businesses have adjusted their hours and offers in response to this week's ban on dine-in service at all Illinois restaurants and bars to stem the spread of the new coronavirus. Carry-out and delivery service is set to remain available despite a statewide "stay at home" order that takes effect Saturday evening.

To help local businesses, Evanston has loosened liquor license restrictions to allow businesses to sell booze with takeout and delivery orders. Until the end of the city's declared state of emergency, Liquor license holders in the city can also sell alcohol to be consumed off-site or deliver it from Evanston locations to customers.

Find a list below of Evanston restaurants offering carry-out, pick-up or delivery services, according to the Evanston Chamber of Commerce and the City of Evanston. Area restaurant guides are also available from the Main-Dempster Mile and Downtown Evanston local business associations.

Feast and Imbibe – that is raising money for free meals to local residents who need them. They offer the meals between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. every day. Residents can donate online.
Local company Inclusion Solutions is offering to customize a curb side sign and bell to notify customers as well as expedite customers experience for curbside carry out. The signs are discounted from $350 to $299 and can be ordered online.

Evanston Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Roger Sosa also asked residents to support local restaurants by purchasing gift cards online to provide needed cash flow.
