Bea Sweet Treats Bakery in Newburgh is hosting a once-a-month Desserts After Dark evening, when the shop will close at the regular time of 5 p.m. but re-open between 6:30 and 9 p.m. with a special selection of more upscale dessert offerings. The next will be on Saturday, March 25. Look for decorated slices of cakes, cheesecakes and layered tortes, tarts, mega macarons and more. Desserts may be taken to go or enjoyed at the shop.

New Mexican lunch buffet

Burrito Express Mexican Grill in Henderson now offers a lunch buffet Monday - Saturday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Daily offerings may change but look for items such as albondigas (meatballs), alambres (sauteed meat similar to fajitas with bacon), burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, taco salad, fried rice, rice and beans, queso, and more. Cost is $10.99.

City theme hot dog specials

Doc’ Sports Bar will, beginning Wednesday, March 22, be featuring hot dogs themed after signature dogs from Major League Baseball cities through summer baseball season. The first will be based on the Milwaukee Brewers’ Jalapeño Popper Dog with bacon, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, fried jalapeno bottlecaps and raspberry jam. The specials will start each week at lunch on Wednesday and continue until sold out. Depending on ingredients, dogs will cost from $7-$9. The second dog in the series will be a St. Louis dog with grilled onions and green peppers, banana peppers, bacon, provolone cheese and pepper mustard. One dollar per dog sold will be donated to the Highland Challenger League baseball Program.

Holy Redeemer Fish Fry

Holy Redeemer Parish will hold a drive through only fish fry on Friday, March 24, from 4:45-6:15 p.m. On the menu are fried or baked fish, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, slaw, cheddar biscuits and dessert. Price is $13 per person.

JT’s American Food on the Fly is a new food truck on the roads of the Tri-State. Watch for it peddling American fast food classics such as burgers, hot dogs, walking tacos, nachos, fries and more.

St. Clement fish fry in Boonville

St. Clement Parish in Boonville, Indiana, will hold a fish fry every Friday in Lent through March 31, in the St. Clement Social Hall, from 4:30-7 p.m. On the menu are fried or baked fish fillets, cornbread, slaw, sides including choices of potato salad, green beans, baked beans or macaroni and cheese, a dessert and beverage. The cost is $15 for adults, $6 for kids 12 and under. Dine in or carry-out meals are available.

St. John the Baptist fish fry in Newburgh

St. John the Baptist Parish of Newburgh will hold a fish fry every Friday in Lent through March 31, from 4-7 p.m. or until sold out. On the menu are fried or grilled fish or cheese pizza, rotating sides including baked potatoes or potato salad, macaroni and cheese, green beans, slaw, cornbread and dessert. Prices are $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12, and ages 3 and younger free.

St. Wendel Fish Fry in Wadesville

The St. Wendel Parish Knights of St. John will hold a fish fry on Friday, March 24, at the Knights of St. John Home. On the menu are fried fish, potato salad, slaw, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, corn bread and a drink. For more information call 812-454-9375.
