Food Trucks at the Farm

Food Trucks at Farm 57 will begin on Wednesday, May 3. Stop in every Wednesday evening from 4:30-8 p.m. through fall for a gathering of Evansville's food trucks and live music at Farm 57, where you may also stop inside for a beer, coffee beverage or ice cream and grab fresh veggies, flowers, or a piece of local art. Watch the Farm 57 Facebook page for information on cancellation or relocation in case of bad weather.

Food Trucks at Friedman

Food Trucks at Friedman Park begins on Thursday, May 4, from 5-8 p.m. This year, this will be a monthly event on the first Thursday of each month. Live music will be a focus with bands such as Annabel Whitledge and The Smoke Rings taking the stage, and expect to see some non-food vendors.

Friedman Park is at 2700 Park Blvd. in Newburgh, Indiana.

Derby Day Barbecue

The Germania Maennerchor will be holding a Derby Day Food Sale on Saturday, May 6. Call and order ahead to secure your ribs for $27 per slab or half chickens for $7. Pickup will be on May 6 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Plate meals will also be served during that time. They will be $14 for ribs or a half chicken with potato salad, baked beans, creamy coleslaw, bread, pickles and onion. You may eat in or carry out. The Kentucky Derby races will be on in the Rathskeller starting at 12:30 p.m. with prizes and a half pot.

Henderson Farmers Market

The Henderson, Ky. Farmers Market will begin on Saturday, May 6, from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Henderson County 4H Fairgrounds/Freedom Park and will continue through October every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday morning. Visit for produce, honey, wine, meat and more.

The Henderson, Kentucky, Farmers Market is at 381 Sam Ball Way.

High Score Saloon is taking their Trash Tots and moving up the street. Join them for a party before the leave their current home on Saturday, May 6.

High Score Throwback on Main

The High Score Saloon is moving, and the last day open at the current location will be Saturday, May 6, when they'll host the Spring Throwback on Main. Come party at the beer and cocktail garden, indoor and outdoor arcades, giant board games, and enjoy cosplay, a DJ, food trucks, door prizes and more. The proceeds will help fund a music venue on the second floor of High Score's new home up the street. This is an all-weather event. Must be 21 to attend. Tickets are $15.

Beer and Wine Fest

The Newburgh Beer & Wine Fest will be held on Saturday, May 6, at the old Lock & Dam Park from 2-9 p.m. Enjoy all-day sipping and sampling, live music, food trucks, and the Kentucky Derby live on a big-screen television. Tickets are $25 per person plus online processing fees. Proceeds will support Historic Newburgh. People under 21 are not allowed inside the fenced ticketed area but may purchase food from food trucks and view the Kentucky Derby.

New bundt cake shop opens

Nothing Bundt Cakes is now open in the Promenade shopping center on Evansville's east side. The store specializes in bundt cakes in a variety of sizes and flavors including red velvet, white chocolate raspberry, carrot and lemon. In addition, balloons and decorations for birthdays, holidays, sporting events and more are available to accompany your cake.

Pub & Grill introduces new doggie menus

Prime Time Pub & Grill in Newburgh and Prime Time North now have doggie menus on their pet-friendly patios. Your best friend may now enjoy their own bowl of filtered water with a plain chicken breast, prime rib, eggs with or without cheese, a beef patty with or without cheese, or doggie "ice cream." A portion of doggie menu sales will go to benefit a local animal rescue.

Farm Babies & Berries all month long

Trunnell’s Farm Market just south of Owensboro, Ky., will welcome guests for Farm Babies & Berries every Saturday in May from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Purchase strawberry goodies including strawberry doughnuts, shortcakes, sundaes and, of course, fresh strawberries from the field when they're ripe. Then say "hi" to the bunnies, baby goats, miniature Highland calves and other animals, and even get to groom and bottle feed the babies. Over 30 attractions will be open for family fun. Tickets start at $14.99 plus online fees and taxes or $20 plus tax at the gate.
