The Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Henderson, Ky., will host a bake-off auction in the fellowship hall on Sunday, Aug. 28, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Bids on desserts and sweet treats baked by parishioners will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. The buyer of the dessert that sells at the highest price will receive a copy of the Abundant Life Cookbook, which will be available by Oct. 15.

The Mater Dei Marching Wildcats band is raising funds with ribs. St. Louis cut ribs are $25 for a full rack, seasoned with a light rub and smoked. Pick-up of hot, fresh from the smoker ribs will be on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 1-4 p.m. at Mater Dei high school. Orders must be submitted by Wed., Aug. 24, by emailing Amie Hulfachor at ahulfachor@gmail.com

TheSummer of Funk festival will happen at Haynie's Corner on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 1-7 p.m. Look for more than 80 regional artists and craftspeople, live entertainment and plenty of food vendors. This is a rain or shine event.
Haynie's Corner is at the intersection of Second Street and Adams Avenue in Downtown Evansville.
The Rivertown Ice Cream and Grill in Newburgh will be closing for the season after Saturday, Aug. 27, so stop in before then between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. for your favorite burger, sandwich, appetizer or ice cream cone. The Grill will open again in April 2023.
