New breakfast food truck offering brisket biscuits and more all day

Brisket Bisket is a new food truck selling breakfast all day including hearty sandwiches such as (you guessed it) a big biscuit filled with smoked brisket, chipotle cheese and egg; biscuits and gravy; the Egg'N'Cheesesteak with chopped sirloin, grilled onion, peppers and scrambled egg with cheese on a crisp Philly roll and more. Ice cream truck lands next to the Hornet's Nest

Cochs Cones is a new food truck located north of town on Old Petersburg Road next to The Hornet's Nest. This truck offers hand-dipped ice cream in traditional and creative flavors, waffle cones, shakes and sundaes, shaved ice and more. The location will be permanent.

Cochs Cones is at 11800 Petersburg Road.

New barge bar opening next to Marina Pointe

The Dive Barge will be the name of the former Tiki Time barge bar. It will be associated with Marina Pointe and will open in mid-May. The menu will feature unique seafood dishes such as grouper tenders with Cajun remoulade, smoked fish, and shrimp jammers as well as crispy wings, salads and more.

The Dive Barge will be at 1801 Waterworks Road.

No more decorated cakes from beloved Evansville bakery

The Donut Bank Bakery has announced it will no longer be producing decorated cakes after April 24. Lovers of the homemade cakes and signature light and fluffy icing needn't despair, however, as cupcakes and smaller cake squares and filled cake squares will continue to be available along with the Donut Bank's large assortment of doughnuts, danish, cookies and other pastries.

Evansville Stromboli Week

Evansville Stromboli Week by Evansville Events and the Roca Bar will happen from Sunday, Apr. 16, through Saturday, Apr. 22. Restaurants all around Evansville will be offering $7 stromboli deals, from house favorites at a special price, to meal deals, to creative concoctions made just for this event.

Participants will include Steve's Una Pizza, Riverwalk Restaurant, and Franklin St. Pizza Factory to name only a few. For all the information, download the Evansville Events mobile app. After April 7, check it for locations and visit them during Stromboli week. Check in with codes for a chance to win prizes.

Food truck park in Owensboro holds opening event

The Lot Owensboro Food Truck Park will host an opening extravaganza event on Thursday, Apr. 20,, with food trucks, and live music. Look for special CBD cocktails and food specials.

The Lot Food Truck Park is at 900 E. Fourth St., Owensboro, Kentucky.

Dinner Theatre coming to Newburgh

The Newburgh Community Theater is offering a dinner theatre performance on Fridays and Saturdays, April 21, 22, 28, and 29, at the Kapperman Post 44 American Legion in Newburgh. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner is served at 6 p.m. and the play begins at 7 p.m.

The play is "Occupation: Murder!" It revolves around a mysterious crime committed on the live set of a game show.

On the menu are a choice of fried chicken or pork loin, mashed potatoes, green beans and a roll. Desserts are available during intermission. Tickets are $30. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Note that a theatrical pistol is displayed on stage and a shot is fired off stage during the event, and there is fake blood.

Get your sugar high at Milkshake & Donut celebration week

Owensboro's Sugar High Challenge will celebrate Milkshakes & Donuts from Sunday, Apr. 16, through Saturday, Apr. 22. Bakeries, ice cream parlors, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more eateries around Owensboro will be featuring doughnuts, milkshakes and all the crazy concoctions inspired by them. Pancake fundraising breakfast

Patchwork Central will host the Patchwork Pancake Extravaganza on Saturday, April 22, from 7:30-11:30 a.m. On the menu will be all-you-can-eat pancakes, blueberry pancakes and gluten-free pancakes, cooked apples, sausage, orange juice and coffee.

Tickets may be purchased at the door and are $5 for kids and $8 for adults. All proceeds benefit Patchwork Central's programming, which creates community and empowers growth through opportunities for learning, creativity and a cultivation of the arts.

Bourbon and Bowties

The Reitz Home Museum will host Bourbon and Bowties on Friday, Apr. 21, from 5-8 p.m. Taste 6 unique Bourbons with Brendan Zebroski of Johnson Brothers Distributors, see custom bowties by Dapper Dudes Designs, and enjoy live music, hors d'oeuvres, food, a cash bar, silent auction and cigars by Cigar! Cigar! Tickets are $75 per person.

Eat and help the people of Ukraine

A Ukrainian Spring Fest will be held at Washington Plaza on Saturday, Apr. 22, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Stop by for Ukrainian food, desserts and other refreshments, souvenirs, kids' and adults' activities and more. The event is by Grace of Christ Church Mission in Ukraine and proceeds will serve the civilians of Ukraine who have been living in a state of war by helping provide food, medicine, shelter, infant needs, and more.

Downtown restaurant reintroduces worldly comfort foods

Walton’s Smokehouse and Southern Kitchen has introduced a new menu. Going back to the restaurant's roots, many of the favorite worldly "comfort foods" have made a comeback. Look for fried green tomatoes with Cajun aioli; rice bowls; pulled pork poutine with brown gravy, cheese curds and cheese sauce over fries; Southern Blue Belle smoked pork belly over cheese grits with balsamic roasted Brussels sprouts; a burger with two chicken fried patties, cheese, bacon, a fried egg and tomato gravy on a brioche bun; and much more.
