Bauerhaus tasting event

The Bauerhaus Catering will be open to the public for a buffet tasting dinner on Friday, August 19, from 6-8:30 p.m. Items from the catering menu will be featured as well as several cake flavors. A cash bar will be available. Tickets are $19.99 per person and must be purchased in advance. Call to reserve.

Sunflowers for Ukraine

Bud's Farm Market is growing sunflowers to benefit the people of Ukraine. Donation suggestion is $1 per flower, or $10 for a photo shoot. All proceeds will go to the United Nations’ World Food Program to benefit Ukrainian refugees.

Farmers Market celebrates National Dog Month

The Evansville Farmers Market next monthly market will happen Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.at Washington Square Mall. Look for produce vendors, bakers with ready-to-eat food, food trucks, arts and crafts and much more. The market is celebrating National Dog Month and the nonprofit spotlight is on PAW Street, an outreach program that helps provide pet owners in need with financial and other support to care for their pets and keep them together.

Free nutrition classes

Little Lambs of Evansville will begin a series of free nutrition lessons on Tuesday, Aug. 16. Following classes will be on Tuesday, Aug. 23; and Tuesday, Aug 30. All classes are held in the kitchen of the First Presbyterian Chruch from 10-11 a.m. Learn the basics of how to choose healthy foods and cook affordable, delicious meals. Craft beer pop-up

Myriad Brewing Company and Downtown Evansville are teaming up to host a craft beer pop-up on Friday, Aug. 19, from 5-8:30 p.m. Enjoy craft beers, live entertainment, giant yard games and more.

Tickets until August are $15. Day of event admission is $20. Ticket price includes 2 8-oz beers. Additional drink tickets may be purchased for $5. Must be 21 to attend. The event will be outdoors between 415 and 425 Main St.

Myriad Brewing Company is also introducing house-crafted charcuterie boards and, soon, giant soft Bavarian pretzels with cheese.

Award-winning barbecue dinners to go

The Old Fashioned Butcher Shoppe of Newburgh has expanded its ready-to-eat line of foods with hot dinners to go from 3-5 p.m. Pre-ordering is required; order by 10 a.m. the day of pickup. Tuesday and Wednesday choices are BBQ smoked chips, smoked meatloaf, or smoked turkey breast with choice of sides. Thursday and Friday choices are pulled pork, pulled chicken or half rack baby back ribs with choice of sides. All meals are $13, add $2 for ribs. Owensboro Multicultural Festival

The Owensboro Multicultural Festival will happen on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro, Ky. Almost 50 exhibitors will offer cultural exhibits from around the world. Look for foods from El Salvador, Jamaica, the Philippines, Thailand and Myanmar, Hawaiian shaved ice, and more. The event is free to attend.

Zesto on Riverside will be celebrating its 70th anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 20 from. Look for specials on food and ice cream and T-shirts. A portion of sales will go to the Glenwood Neighborhood Association and to The Potter’s Wheel.
