Evansville man accused of molesting children over span of months

EVANSVILLE — An Evansville man made his initial appearance in court Thursday after police accused him of sexually abusing two adolescent victims over multiple months.

Deondrae Curtis Frazier, 31, was booked into the Vanderburgh County jail Wednesday afternoon on one preliminary count of child molesting, a Level 1 felony. During his initial hearing, Vanderburgh County Circuit Court Judge Celia Pauli ordered Frazier to be held at the jail on a $25,000 bond, according to court records.

Evansville Police Department Detective Cameron Werne, writing in a probable cause affidavit, said two children younger than 12 accused Frazier of molesting them on multiple occasions.

According to Werne, Frazier denied molesting either of the children during conversations with detectives.

Staff at Holly’s House, a child and adult advocacy center in Evansville, conducted forensic interviews with both children in late March and early April, Werne wrote. They reportedly told similar stories and accused Frazier of blindfolding them during some of the alleged instances of abuse.

“The (forensic interviewer) asked victim two if this was something that happened one time or more than one time,” Werne wrote in the affidavit. “Victim two replied more than one time.”

According to court records, Frazier has not yet posted bond and remains at the Vanderburgh County jail.
