New Year’s Eve Shrimp Drop in Brunswick cancelled due to weather

The New Year’s Eve Shrimp Drop at Mary Ross Waterfront Park in Brunswick, Ga. has been cancelled.

The Glynn County Board of Commissioners said on a Facebook post that after monitoring the weather pattern over the past few days, the Brunswick Downtown Development Authority made the decision to scrap the event.

The countdown to the new year with the annual Brunswick shrimp drop was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, Dec. 31 at Mary Ross Waterfront Park.

“Safety for our residents and visitors is priority”, said Jennifer Krouse, the Brunswick DDA event coordinator. “Our next event will be First Friday on January 6th to start off the new year and we will have several family friendly events that are already scheduled for 2023.”
