Ariana Grande Is Trying the Press-On Nail Trend While At Home

No one can become a talented nail artist overnight, but the closure of salons due to COVID-19, has meant a lot more of us have had to learn how to take care of and paint our own nails — including celebrities. One option for keeping manicures fresh during isolation that has become more appealing as the days go by is press-on nails. Now, singer Ariana Grande is the latest to join in on the trend.

The "7 Rings" singer shared her love for instant manicures in a video on Instagram stories. She was given some press-on nails from a Los Angeles-based freelance nail artist who goes by @bettyinacherry on the social media platform. In the video, Grande is wearing one of the nail sets while showing off the other one. She thanks the artist with the caption "u are a gift @bettyinacherry thank u." Though the nail artist’s profile is private, they shared a screenshot from Grande's Instagram Story to an alternate profile @nailanatomy.

In the video, Grande is holding a sheet of press-ons with a set of almond-shaped, sparkly nails, and you can see a couple of leftovers in the package, as the nail artist most likely sent her a variety of sizes so she could find the best fit. The other full set still on the sheet has a square shape and an ombré baby-blue color with a hole-punched design.

Press-on nails have been a popular manicure alternative for a while now because of the ease and flexibility. With the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the instant mani is landing in a lot more customers' carts. Nail artists have even started selling the manicure alternative during quarantine to give customers salon-quality nails in the comfort of their homes, and also to supplement some of the income they're missing because salons are closed. Press-ons are a great way to help your nails look camera-ready within minutes, even if you're staying home — just like Grande.
