Everett Starbucks location shuts down for day in honor of fallen officer Dan Rocha
The Starbucks location in Everett where police officer Dan Rocha was killed in March was shut down for the day on Sunday to honor the fallen officer as part of National Peace Officers Memorial Day, according to the Everett Police Department.
“This was his Starbucks; he knew the partners beyond just their names, knowing their lives, sharing in their successes, and was part of their Starbucks family,” the department said in a Facebook post. “In return, they knew Dan’s go-to order, his smile, and how he was always his authentic self.”
Employees shut down the store Sunday to honor Rocha as an officer and as a key part of their community.
Rocha was killed in the line of duty outside the Starbucks store on March 25 while investigating a suspicious person. He left behind his loving wife Kelli, sons Thomas and Harrison, dads Charlie Rocha and Mike Lee, sisters Morgen Henry and Rae Ann Hismiogullari, sister-in-law Maggy Palos and brother-in-law Matt Nicholas, plus a large extended family who loved him dearly, his family said.
