Every Slice Of This Cake Comes With A Gorgeous Macaron On Top
This year's opening of Universal's TODAY Café was widely covered as exciting for many reasons, predominantly because the menu was inspired by your TODAY Show favs (Kathie Lee, Al Roker, and Hoda Kotb, to name a few). What you didn't read, though, is that the restaurant is pumping out insane desserts not pegged to any particular talent: They've just got some really gorgeous stuff...including this extremely aptly named Confetti Cake.
What you need to know about the cake (that you don't see right off the bat) is that it's comprised of a lot of beautiful, beautiful sugar, the least of which comes from the full cup of rainbow sprinkles that goes into the batter.

Once that's all set, bakers get to work ensuring all the adorning sugary elements are ready to go. First up? A thick baby blue buttercream frosting for the middle and sides of the cake. Next comes a thinner—yet equally pretty—pink buttercream that'll drip along the edges of the cake.
As for the actual decorations, edible silver pearls are placed lovingly on every slice before more of that blue buttercream is piped on in lil perfect circles as well. To top it all off? Eight sprinkle-dusted vanilla macarons. One for every single sweet, sweet slice.
