'Everybody Still Hates Chris' Animated Series From Chris Rock Gets Series Order At Paramount+ And Comedy Central

Chris Rock’s adult animated Everybody Still Hates Chris series, a follow-up to the 2000s sitcom, has officially been ordered to series at Paramount+ and Comedy Central.

MTV Entertainment Studios made the announcement on Tuesday, which comes over a year after the project was first announced to be in development. The new series, which draws inspiration from the adolescent years of the actor/comedian, has received a straight-to-series order.

The new half-hour animated series is executive produced by Rock with Sanjay Shah (King of the Hill, South Park), original series creator Ali LeRoi, Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky.

It is from CBS Studios and 3 Arts Entertainment and will feature Rock narrating as he did in the original series.

The series will center “tales that are based on Rock’s experiences as a skinny nerd growing up in a big working-class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, in the late 1980s.”

It is the latest push into animation for MTV Entertainment Studios following the announcements of the Andy Samberg-produced comedy series Digman!; Jodie, a spin-off film of Daria series starring Tracee Ellis Ross; and the return of Beavis and Butt-Head in the form of a film and a series.
