Celebrations for Homecoming 2023 in Alamogordo begin Thursday with a bonfire and wrap up on Saturday with a dance at Alamogordo High school.

Here's what to know about Homecoming 2023 at Alamogordo High School.

Alamogordo High School bonfire open to the public

The public is invited to participate in the annual bonfire at Alamogordo High School, located on 1st Street.

The bonfire begins at 7:30 p.m.

Other events:

  • Monday, Aug. 28: AHS PowderPuff Football Game at 6 p.m. at TIger Stadium

  • Wednesday, Aug. 30: AHS PowderFluff Football Game at the Tiger Pit Tiger at 6 p.m.

Homecoming parade scheduled for Friday

The Alamogordo High school parade begins at 3 p.m.

It will start at Cuba Street and travel down 10th Street. The parade will end at New York Avenue.

Other events:

  • Saturday, Sept. 2: AHS Homecoming Dance from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets the homecoming dance are $20 for students attending solo and $35 for couples. The dress code is semi-formal and the dance will be held inside the Alamogordo High School commons area. The Alamogordo Tigers will face Gadsden at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at the Tiger Stadium, located at 103 Cuba Avenue.

Admission to the event is free. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Alamogordo schools plan early release on Friday

Early dismissals will occur on Friday, Sept. 1 on the following schedule:

  • Elementary Schools: 11:50 a.m.

  • Holloman Middle School: 12:20 p.m.

  • Mountain View and Chaparral Middle: 12:45 p.m.

  • Alamogordo High School: 1 p.m.

Each of the elementary schools will have its own spirit week events. Parents can find individual school events listed on school websites or Facebook page.
